Function
A remote control extender includes a transmitter and a recipient. If a remote control is pointed at the all of that and a function is pressed, it can exchange that information to the designated audio/video device, through the receiver, for the following reaction.
Features
This extender interconnection is made between the transmitter and receiver by radio frequencies, or RF. Because the relationship is made virtually through the air, an audio/video device can be controlled from an absolutely different room, or even another level within the home.
Considerations
Bear in mind that the receiver must be positioned so that it is facing the IR, or infrared, receiver of the device being controlled. The all of that can then be placed within 100 feet of the receiver to finish the connection.
